Harford Family House, the largest provider of transitional housing for homeless families with children in Harford County, will host its fifth annual “Celebree Presents Harford’s Most Beautiful Baby” live event on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Harford Mall. During the event, judges will announce the Harford’s Most Beautiful Baby contest winner to receive the grand prize package valued at more than $11,000.
The announcement of the contest winner at 2:00 p.m. will be the culmination of a day packed with additional live contests and entertainment emceed by honorary event chairperson Kristy Breslin of WJZ-TV. Contests begin at 10:30 a.m. and include:
Registration for the above contests is open until noon on May 9 online at the contest website, and same day, on-site registration for those contests opens at 10:00 a.m. at Harford Mall’s center court on May 10. Other entertainment scheduled throughout the day includes “The Magic of Steve Gambrill, The Extreme Balloon Man of Extreme Family Entertainment” as well as a martial arts demonstration performed by Chung’s Martial Arts and the Level Infinity Music Group.
The cost to enter each contest is $25, which according to Harford Family House Executive Director Joyce Duffy directly translates to a night of shelter. “Every $25 raised pays to house a homeless mother, father or child for one night,” says Duffy. So by entering the contest a family will be directly helping a homeless family in need.”
This year’s grand prize winner will receive a full year of preschool courtesy of Celebree Learning Centers, along with other prizes that include jewelry and gift certificates for an estimated total value of $11,000. Generous prize packages will also be awarded to the second and third place Beautiful Baby contest winners. Prizes and other event support are provided thanks to the generosity of event sponsors including Celebree Learning Centers, Jones Junction, University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Rosedale Federal Savings & Loan Association, APGFCU, Harford Mutual Insurance Company, Susquehanna Bank, Mars Supermarkets, My Gym, Saxon’s Diamond Centers, Harford Mall, Bel Air Athletic Club, Anni Oh Photography, Dr. Jeffrey Horowitz and Klein’s ShopRite.
