Fireworks Detonated In Fallston Mailbox

The blast caused $20 damage and police and fire officials are not sure who the culprit is.

A residential mailbox in Fallston was damaged Wednesday night after someone set off fireworks inside it.

Around 10:55 p.m. a neighbor in the 3200 block of Canterbury Lane noticed the mailbox had been damaged, according to a release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

Firefighters from the Fallston Volunteer Fire Company, deputies from the Harford County Sheriff's Office and an investigator with the fire marshal's office arrived at the scene a short time later, the release states.

Investigators determined the $20 damage was caused when fireworks were set off inside the mailbox.

No arrests have been made in the incident.
